Niramaya Health Foundation, with support from Parivartan Bharat, BharatCares, and HDFC Bank, implemented the AarogyaSampada Project to improve access to primary healthcare services in selected villages of the Uran region near JNPT. The project addressed limited healthcare facilities, high treatment costs, and delayed care-seeking among underserved communities. Four village-based mega health camps were conducted in Punade, Sarade, Pirkon, and Chirner villages, covering 419 villagers with general check-ups, nutritional screening, eye check-ups, BMD screening, basic diagnostic tests, and medicine support.
Four school health camps were also organized for 410 students, including eye, dental, and general health examinations. A Menstrual Health & Hygiene Awareness Program supported 218 adolescent girls through awareness sessions and menstrual hygiene kits. A School Health & Hygiene Corner was successfully established at Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Vidyalaya, Pirkon village, benefiting 356 students, along with the installation of a sanitary napkin vending machine.
The project improved access to essential healthcare services, promoted preventive health practices, and strengthened health awareness among underserved communities in the Uran region.
