Access to healthcare services is critical to good health, yet urban slum residents face a variety of access barriers. People should be able to conveniently and confidently access public health services such as primary care, behavioral health, Cancer screening services, etc.
MMU focus on health and provide Primary healthcare facilities including preventive healthcare at their doorsteps so that early diagnosis and preliminary treatment can be facilitated and patients can be guided to a tertiary healthcare facility through proper channels.
The MMU team is serving 10 slum pockets from Ghatkopar, Chembur, Govandi, Mankhurd, and Andheri regions.
The MMU project provides comprehensive services to the community Such as Primary Health care, Specialist OPD, Referral Services, Health Education, and Social Support services; which are helping to increase the healthcare-seeking behavior of the community.
The MMU team also covers maternal & child health services including antenatal, and postnatal & immunization as per government guidelines.
The MMU team covers the early detection of high-risk pregnancies and promoting institutional deliveries to reduce maternal deaths.
Special health check-up camps as per the community requirements help community people to detect and increase surveillance of a disease in its early stages.
