AAROGYASANVARDHAN PROJECT has completed of four years. This gave the opportunity to evaluate the impact and share the outcome of this project with our Funding Agencies, CSR and NGOs Partners, Stakeholders and Peer Educators and Beneficiaries of the community of Marol Pipeline, Andheri. The event was organised on 7th April 2016 at VITS, Andheri.
Event inaugurated by our honoured dignitaries with lightening of diya (candle) and a welcome song by our beneficiaries – adolescent girls. The dignitaries were welcomed with sapient and requested to say few words. One of the most significant moment was launching of ‘Low Cost Nutritious Recipe Book – NIRAMAYA PAUSHTIK VYANJAN’ by Cheryl Pinto, a director and founder of Glenmark Foundation. All the guests were presented a brief about the impact of the project. Peer educators and beneficiaries shared their experiences. Tears were flowing from their eyes after seeing changes in themselves; they shared their other experiences that knowledge that they gained will help them though out their lifespan. Many of them shared that they got full time permanent jobs after participating in the Niramaya’s training programs. Health workers shared that they were feeling very happy that they got a chance to contribute and lucky to be welcomed and supported by community members.
Peer educators performed a musical play called ‘Sun Sakhi Sun – Yeh Hai Meri Kahani’. Basically the play was based on their story to begin with how health workers identified and made them peers to what all changes they have made in themselves and in the community. The event was ended with a pleasant surprise and that made the Niramaya team most excited. Ms Tincy George announced that Niramaya was selected for ‘BEST NGO AWARD – 2014/15’ out of 7 other NGOS spread across the India. This gave immense motivation to the team. Team felt proud and very happy for their hard work of many past years.
